" Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose. "

Happy Holidays everyone!! I hope everyone tried their best on these tests this week! Today in E.L.A. we presented our speeches to our class. One thing I noticed about the speeches today was that everyone felt strongly about their topic, and I thought that was good because it showed how hard everyone has been working on them! I hope everyone did an AMAZING job! :)

I hope everybody has an amazing holiday this year! I know I can not wait for the New Year!

"I Have a Dream."

In class this week we were assigned to write our own "I have a Dream Speech." Here is mine I hope everyone likes it!

Unfortunately, our economy is dropping down tremendously which is causing our fellow Americans to struggle with financial problems. Some of the problems they are having is that they are not able to put a roof over their head, They are not able to put food on the table for their family, and not being able to put  their kids in school. Just remember not all the people in need are homeless. The economy is at its worst that it could have ever been at right now, and I think this is taking a toll on people. Our duty as American Citizens is to help our fellow neighbors through their hardships when we can. Some of these people are homeless, and live out on the streets with no food at all to survive.
I have a dream that one day our Country will unite as one, and help the people in desperate need. I think that if we try hard enough that we can “nurse” these people back to health. What I mean here is that we can get these families back to their regular life. With our help I feel that we can go beyond my dreams, and maybe more people can donate to local charities or do volunteer work at a homeless shelters.  Many people are in desperate need, and I think we just don’t realize it because we are too caught up in our lives. This is a daring task to do, but I think that we can achieve it throughout a long process.
Something that many of us do not know is that the people going through a tough time can be ordinary just like us, and can go to school like us. Both the kids and parents would be affected by having hardships with money.  I’m sure so many people will appreciate our hard work with helping their lives. This will not be achieved in my time, but I hope that in later years that it will be accomplished, and everybody in the world will be happy! Like Mahatma Ghandi said “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” I know I want to see everybody in this world doing anything and everything to see this problem be resolved.
Thank You!

The Dangers Of Distracted Driving

Have you ever heard of the saying "Just drive"? In the article I read that was the main focus on distracted driving. An 11th grader from Holland, Michigan was one of many to send in a storyboard to the Drive2Life program. Her name was Rebecca and she notably got chosen to make a 30 second Public service announcement video that aired on t.v. to get young adults and adults to stop paying attention to distractions while they are driving. Rebecca won $1,000 dollars to make her dream of teaching young adults and adults  to not pay attention to distractions come to life. After  Rebecca won she had to start filming because she ONLY had one day to film a video that was supposed to teach people important information. The video was mostly focused on the distractions that people will  do while driving. In the video it shows a young adult driver doing what they usually do which is eating, putting on make up and much more while driving! In reality Rebecca had her point directly made across the world because the 30 second video was aired in May which is National Youth Traffic Safety Month. David Reich, a spokesman for National Road Safety Foundation stated in the article that "The examples she showed on her storyboard were clear, and overall her entry was quite professional ." David Reich made this nice quote directly to Rebecca about how her amazing 30 second video was. This quote stood out to me because it showed that hard work pays off, especially when it is for a good cause, and is to inform people. I think that overall message that the writer wanted to tell us was to not text and drive or mainly just not listen to distractions and stay on the road because you can injure yourself and other passengers in the car. Just imagine being an 11th grader and already kind of starting a career in the video industry.
I think that this quote will stick with me my whole life ,and it is to "Just Drive."

I hope you enjoyed my second post on my blog. This was a moving article to me mainly because this was an 11th grader that tried to make a difference in our lives.
